Universiti Teknologi Malaysia maintains a good position since last year in Asia’s Top 100 best universities according to the THE-QS rankings released recently.
UTM is currently at the 82nd position with other Malaysian universities have climbed up the ladder especially Universiti Malaya which is now ranked 39th in Asia, followed by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), 51st, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), 69th and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), slightly behind UTM on the 90th position.
The QS Managing Director, Nunzio Quacquarelli said that the rankings released in the THE-QS website are based on the excellence of a university regionally.
“A university with good performance is not only being determined by its quality but also the productivity of its researche, in comparison with other universities in the region,” he said in a statement.
He also said that Malaysian universities can be considered a good option with many international students coming here to further their studies. Malaysian Universities also have a lot of faculties and diverse international programmes.
